The Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) and the central government have implemented a commendable initiative to screen for diabetic retinopathy in patients who have had diabetes for more than five years. This program aims to prevent blindness associated with diabetes, a leading cause of preventable blindness in adults.
At Sharnam Eye Centre, we’ve taken this mission to the next level by offering doorstep diabetic retinopathy screening services. With the Sharnam Mobile Retina Eye Clinic, we’re bringing advanced digital imaging technology directly to patients. This innovative approach allows for immediate retina imaging and provides patients with a report on their retina’s condition concerning diabetes-related changes.
Since the inception of our program, we’ve screened over 6,000 diabetic patients. Our initiative not only contributes to the early detection and prevention of vision loss but also raises awareness about the importance of regular eye check-ups for diabetic individuals.
We believe that with continued efforts and community engagement, we can significantly reduce the risk of diabetes-related blindness and improve the quality of life for countless individuals.
