Transpupillary Thermotherapy (TTT) is a procedure, that relies upon a uniquely designed infrared laser system to treat abnormal blood vessels beneath the retina in the “wet” variety of macular degeneration while preserving the normal retina tissues. A Laser beam covering the lesion, is used for a minute to treat the abnormal vessels under the Macula. Patients formerly considered “untreatable” with traditional laser photocoagulation can now be treated resulting in stabilization or improvement in visual acuity.

TTT is also effectively used in some intra ocular tumors.
